Premium Compost Made from horse manure, cow manure and leaves. It is approximately one half manure and one half leaves, well rotted for about one and one half years. This compost is stable and won't burn like straight manure could. The PH is 7, which is good for all crops. Incorporating 2 to 4 inches into the top six inches of your garden will give you best results. Compost increases soil organic matter, adds macro and micro nutrients as well as making nutrients in the soil more available for the plants. Humidified Compost This is compost that is taken one step further. We manage this very carefully, monitoring temperature, moisture, and oxygen. This compost is inoculated with three different additives to help produce high levels of beneficial micro-organisms and to fix nitrogen. This compost has all the properties of our Premium compost, but is higher in nutrients and is teaming with micro-organisms. This compost is approved by Baystate Certifiers to be used for organic farmers and gardeners. Loam Compost Mix This is a 50/50 mix of our fine screened loam and our premium compost. This works great for raised beds and other gardens where you are replacing all the growing soil. With this mix, just plant your seeds, step back, and let it grow. Custom Growing Mixes We also custom mix other growing medium using our compost mulch and loam. We can blend our materials with fertilizers, perlite and vermiculite. Call us with your particular needs. Loam or Top Soil as some people call it. Our loam is classified as class one soil by the USDA. Our soil is screened down to 5/8 inch and is high in organic matter. Using our loam for establishing a lawn will give you the most material for your dollar. Compo-Mulch. New This Season! This compost mulch mix can be used as any other mulch you may buy, but without the normal mulch problems. Traditional mulches break down after time and use valuable nutrients in your soil to do it. Compo-mulch is a stable material that will not use nutrients from your soil but will actually add nutrients and organic matter to the soil. A two to three inch layer of compo-mulch added to your flower bed or vegetable garden will do a great job suppressing the weeds. In addition, this mulch can be mixed into your garden soil next year instead of planting through a “layer” of conventional mulch as most people have to do. Fine Ground Mulch Made from all organic wood fibers of both hardwood, softwood, and bark. This is a small or fine material that looks much like peat, but at a much cheaper price. People who have used this in the past have found it very easy to use as well as looking great. Forest Mix Mulch This is much like traditional mulch. It is made of soft and hard wood and bark. The particles range from fine to as large as three inches long. |
